Is my area allowed for shared housing in Dubai?
To check if your area is allowed for shared housing, use the Dubai Municipality list: 28 areas fully allowed, 11 partly. Other areas are not allowed.
The short answer
The DM circular (reported by Khaleej Times on 8 October 2026) lists 28 areas where shared housing is fully allowed, such as Karama, Oud Metha, Al Barsha 1, Jumeirah 1, Al Qusais and Al Nahda, and 11 where it is allowed only in designated parts, such as Al Satwa, Mankhool and Al Mamzar. If your area is partly allowed, we check your plot. If it is not on the list, shared housing is not allowed there.
