What does DCD check at the final inspection?
That the fit-out was built as approved and the fire and life safety systems work, before it issues the completion certificate.
The short answer
At the final inspection, Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) checks that the fit-out matches the approved drawings and that the fire and life safety systems are in place and working: fire alarm and detection, sprinklers, emergency lighting, exit signs, extinguishers and clear escape routes. When it passes, DCD issues the completion certificate and the unit can open. Structural Solutions arranges the inspection and answers any comments.
