What is the difference between Trakhees and DDA?
They are approving authorities for different areas. Trakhees covers Nakheel communities such as Palm Jumeirah and JVC, Jumeirah Golf Estates and JAFZA. DDA covers master communities such as Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills and Business Bay, and the TECOM zones.
The short answer
Trakhees is the regulatory arm of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation; its Civil Engineering Department (CED) approves building works. DDA, the Dubai Development Authority, approves building works in many master-developer communities and free zones. In both, the developer NOC comes first, and submissions are made by an approved consultant. Pools in both need the DM Environment Department NOC.
